Y.A.L.E. School Announces Free Autism-Friendly Movie Event

Cherry Hill, NJ – If you are the parent or caregiver of a child with autism and the hot summer has you feeling trapped in a tank, make plans to join Y.A.L.E. School for an autism-friendly showing of Finding Nemo, the popular Disney Pixar movie that is the basis for this summer’s hit, Finding Dory.
This free event will feature modifications to sound, light, and seating to better suit the unique needs of those on the autism spectrum. Lights will be dimmed, but the room will not be fully darkened and the sound will be lowered. We will provide a relaxed atmosphere in which attendees can come and go, a calming area, an activity area, and a family restroom. Our autism specialists will be on hand.
Finding Nemo will be shown on Thursday, August 18th, 2016 at 3pm at Y.A.L.E. School’s Ellisburg Campus, located at 700 Rt. 70 West in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

“The message in Finding Nemo to “just keep swimming” is an important lesson in resilience for all of us,” said Kim Ryan, the event coordinator. “This is the perfect summer movie to remind us all that a disability should never prevent anyone from living a fulfilling life, rich with friends and adventure,” she concluded.
