• Firefighter Injured Fighting House Fire In Woodbridge Wednesday Afternoon (patch.com) — Colonia firefighters were among several departments called to a serious house fire on East Prospect Avenue in Woodbridge Wednesday afternoon, where one firefighter suffered a minor injury. Crews battled heavy flames on the third floor and attic, faced multiple ceiling collapses, and needed about two hours to bring the blaze under control while investigators now look into the cause. 
• Monroe builds early lead to upset Colonia in GMC first round (nj.com subscription) — Colonia softball fell just short at home in a 9-8 Greater Middlesex Conference first-round thriller, despite a big late rally and strong hitting from several Patriots. Visiting Monroe built a 9-3 lead before Colonia’s five-run seventh inning comeback bid ran out of time. The game showcased standout performances on both sides in front of the home crowd.
