Concerts by the Bay will present a FREE, family-friendly performance by the professional Garden State Symphonic Band as they continue their 2026 Sunday afternoon concert series on Sunday, July 19 at 3:00 PM. Conductor Ginny Johnston, of Maplewood, will lead the 32-member ensemble featuring marches, classical music by Rimsky-Korsakov, highlights from the movie "Frozen", the beloved music from a "Charlie Brown" TV specials and American standards and pop favorites sung by guest vocalist Scott McGowan. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the scenery at Bayview Park in Perth Amboy. If inclement weather, the concert will be held indoors at the nearby Jankowski Center. Holy Grounds Coffee House, the beloved monthly gathering of faith, music, and community hosted at Cranbury United Methodist Church, announces its summer concert event: <a href="https://holygroundsnj.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Music on a Summer's Night</a>, featuring acclaimed Christian singer-songwriters Wendy Schettig and Jim Winder. 
The evening takes place on Friday, August 7, 2026, with doors opening at 6:30 PM at 21 N. Main Street, Cranbury, NJ. Admission is free, with RSVP required. Tickets are available at HolyGroundsNJ.org.
<a href="https://wendyschettig.com/home" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Wendy Schettig</a> is a Philadelphia-area singer, songwriter, and fingerpicking guitarist whose music weaves together Americana, folk, and Christian storytelling in a style that has drawn comparisons to Judy Collins, Joan Baez, and Janis Ian. Having picked up the guitar at age seven and begun writing songs by age nine, Schettig has spent decades sharing her deeply personal journey of faith through original music at churches, retreats, festivals, and coffeehouses across the region. Her three studio albums — including her most recent release in February 2026 — reflect a voice shaped by both hardship and redemption, and audiences consistently describe her performances as moving, authentic, and joy-filled.
<a href="https://www.jim-winder.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Jim Winder</a>, a Bridgewater, NJ-based singer-songwriter and storyteller, has been performing in churches and Christian coffeehouses across the United States since 2000. Leading his band, Jim Winder and The Race, he crafts original songs grounded in Scripture in a style frequently compared to James Taylor. In addition to his solo and band performances, Winder is known for his professionally produced theatrical concert events, including Journey to the Celestial City — a musical retelling of John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress — and Blessed Assurance, drawn from the text of 1 John. He has recorded three CDs and continues to bring his message of Gospel hope to audiences throughout New Jersey and beyond.
Holy Grounds Coffee House is a non-profit ministry of Cranbury United Methodist Church, offering free monthly events that celebrate faith through live music, films, good coffee, and great desserts. The ministry is open to all and is funded entirely by generous donations.

JOINT EFFORT SAFE STREETS COMMUNITY SPORTS ALERTJoint Effort Community Sports Program in conjunction with the Princeton Recreation Department, Princeton Police Department, PBA #130 and the Bailey Basketball Academy(BBA) will offer a free two day of hoops skills and shooting instruction on Saturday, August 8 from 9:00-12noon and youth challenge games on Sunday August 9th from 10am-7pm at the Community Park Basketball Courts, 372 Witherspoon Street[In the Back of the School]. This youth sports community engagement initiative is a part of the Joint Effort Princeton Witherspoon Jackson Community Safe Streets Summer Program scheduled from Friday, July 31st - Sunday, August 9th. The clinic will be directed by Bailey Basketball Academy Founder and top NBA hoop clinician, Kamau Bailey. Bailey is no stranger to the Princeton/Mercer County hoops community having coached locally at PDS and Stuart, ran the 76'ers summer youth basketball&nbsp; camps, as well as BBA and the Shot King Advanced Shooting Instructional Program(the premiere shooting program in NJ). He will be&nbsp;assisted by members of the Princeton&nbsp;Police Department and area coaches. Attendees at the Saturday, August 8th clinic will get individual skill development opportunities in ball handling, shooting, offense and defense, mental preparation, team play and a souvenir sports bag. In commenting on the clinic, Kamau Bailey said, "I appreciate the opportunity to give back to the town and the young people. Giving my time to youth hoops sports in Princeton during the annual Joint Effort summer program is an honor and I am excited to be directing this clinic for my Dad and the community as well as working with the Recreation and Police Department to share my hoop expertise with area players, coaches and families." The Sunday, August 9th Joint Effort Pete Young Sr. &amp; John Young&nbsp; Memorial Summer Youth Basketball&nbsp;Challenge Games&nbsp;will be held from 10:00am-7:00pm and will feature Princeton area youth and student athletes. Further, on Saturday, August 1st, there will be a Joint Effort History &amp; Pigskin Legends Recognition Program for the Joint Effort Princeton Witherspoon Jackson Community All Time Greatest Football Team, Most Valuable Players and Coach (See Attachment) at 4:00pm in the Elks Lodge, 124 Birch Avenue. Join Main Street Highland Park on Sunday, September 20, from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM for the 20th annual Arts in the Park Street Fair &amp; Arts Festival!
Celebrate local art and community in Highland Park! This downtown street fair features a juried art show, local artists and makers, artisan vendors, shopping, live music and entertainment, food from local restaurants, children's activities, community organizations, and more. The festival attracts thousands of visitors from across the region for a day of local art, shopping, food, and live entertainment in downtown Highland Park.
Artists, crafters, food vendors, community organizations, and other businesses are invited to register to participate. Student artists are welcome. Juried artists will display and sell their work under tents along Raritan Avenue.
