A suspect in a carjacked vehicle was killed in a police chase in New Jersey on Saturday, police said.
The suspected carjacker was killed, and the deceased’s name was not released because his family has not been notified yet, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office told PIX11.
Police pursued the vehicle when it crashed near 45 Holland Street in Newark around 7 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray told nj.com.

The male who died was ejected after the stolen car hit a pole, according to nj.com. Police chased the car after it was stolen at gunpoint.
Another suspect in the stolen car was arrested, according to the report, and the stolen car hit another vehicle on South 16th Avenue. A Newark police officer suffered unspecified injuries in a foot chase stemming from the wreck.
