14 Drug Arrests Made In Cranford
A total of 14 people, including Cranford locals, were arrested for possession of drugs such as marijuana, heroin and cocaine, police report.

CRANFORD, NJ — A total of 14 people, including Cranford locals, were arrested for possession of drugs such as marijuana, heroin and cocaine, police report.
On Oct. 6 at 2:18 p.m.: Detective William Pietrucha responded to Lenhome Drive on a report of a motorcycle that was chained to a pole and covered with a motorcycle cover. During the investigation the owner, Brian Darling, 40, of Cranford physically prevented the officers on scene from impounding the motorcycle. Darling was placed under arrest for obstructing administration of law, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance.
On Oct. 6 at 4:02 p.m.: A 2003 Jeep was stopped at Centennial Avenue at Raritan Road for failing to signal. Following an investigation both occupants were found to be in possession of over 50 grams of marijuana. Brahim Elbezaz, 26, of North Bergen and Brandon Ferreira, 21, of Linden were both arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute within a school zone (marijuana), possession of over 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court date. The driver, Elbezaz, was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to signal, windshield obstruction and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle.

On Oct. 7 at 7:12 p.m.: Patrolman Robert Chamra responded to Union County College on a report of a suspicious person in the hallway. Following an investigation Mehtab Singh, 22, of Roselle was located and found to be in possession of marijuana. Singh was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court date.
On Oct. 7 at 8:55 p.m.: A 1999 Ford was stopped for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation the driver, Mannan Azam, 19, of Maplewood was found to be in possession of marijuana. Azam was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Azam was also issued motor vehicle summonses for driving hiwle suspended, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to exhibit documents.

On Oct. 8 at 11:28 p.m.: A 1995 Saturn was stopped for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation Edward Nascimento, 23, of Clark, Alex Triguero, 19, of Clark and Gustavo Pares, 19, of Garwood were found to be in possession of heroin. Nascimento was also found to be in possession of cocaine. Nascimento, Triguero, and Pares were all arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court hearing.
On Oct. 9 at 8:33 p.m.: A 1998 Honda was stopped for failure to keep right. Following an investigation Jeffrey Mccarthy, 38, of Ocean Grove was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia. Mccarthy was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a municipal court hearing.
On Oct. 11 at 1:20 a.m.: A 1998 Toyota was stopped for not having a driver’s side mirror. Following an investigation the driver, Carl Mancuso, 50, of Oakland was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia. Mancuso was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released. Mancuso was also issued motor vehicle summons for mirrors required and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
On Oct. 11 at 6:32 p.m.: Police responded to a home on Ramapo Road on a report of a dispute between neighbors. Upon arrival they observed Edward Ganczewski, 57, of Cranford yelling, cursing and acting in a disorderly manner. He was arrested for disorderly conduct, processed and released pending a municipal court hearing.
On Oct. 12 at 11:54 p.m.: A 2015 Honda was stopped for a windshield obstruction. Following an investigation Taylor Harris, 21, of Fords was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court hearing. Taylor was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and windshield obstruction.
On Oct. 14 at 7:36 p.m.: A 2013 Honda was stopped on Centennial Avenue for a license plate obstruction. Following an investigation Joseph Paszkowski, 27, Cranford was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine). When asked to turn the cocaine over to police officers he refused. Paszkowski was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), possession of paraphernalia and obstruction of governmental function, processed and released pending a superior court hearing.
On Oct. 18 at 10:51 a.m.: A 2012 Mazda was stopped for speeding. Following an investigation a passenger in the vehicle, Kimberly Antoine, 27, of Irvington was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and prescription drugs. Antoine was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of prescription drugs and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court hearing. The driver was issued a summons for failure to provide documents.
On Oct. 18 at 9:16 p.m.: Police responded to Thomas Street on a report of two individuals that appeared to be passed out in a vehicle. Following an investigation Terri Thomas, 24, of Cranford was found to be operating a 2004 Ford. Thomas was arrested for driving under the influence and delaying traffic, processed and released pending a municipal court date.
On Oct. 19 at 12:15 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident. Following an investigation Nancy Bouza, 25, of Garwood the driver of a 2006 Toyota, was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia. Bouza was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court hearing. Bouza was also issued summonses for careless driving, failure to inspect, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
