2 Bicyclists Hit By Pickup Truck In Cranford

Two bicyclists were hospitalized after being hit by a large pickup truck early Thursday morning.

CRANFORD, NJ — Two bicyclists were hospitalized after being hit by a large pickup truck early Thursday morning.

At 6:21 a.m., the two bicyclists were riding westbound on South Avenue West crossing Lincoln Avenue West when they were struck by a 2016 Ford F450, that was making a left turn from South Avenue West onto Lincoln Avenue West, Cranford Police Detective Lt. Edward Davenport reported.

Both cyclists suffered injuries and were transported to area hospitals. The driver of the motor vehicle was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving, Davenport said.

The two bicyclists and the driver of the truck were Union County residents.
