2 Cranford Locals Arrested For DWI, Marijuana: Blotter

CRANFORD, NJ — Two Cranford locals were arrested for driving while intoxicated and marijuana possession on separate incidents, according to police.

Cranford Police blotter:

On Nov. 7 at 11:39 a.m.: A 2003 Acura was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue at John Street for a seatbelt violation.

Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Christopher DiFabio located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Ihab Saleh, 45, of Cranford was arrested for Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance.

Saleh was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to wear a seatbelt, and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Nov. 7 at 8:14 p.m.: A 2001 Mercury was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue and John Street for careless driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jason D’Agostino located marijuana inside the vehicle.

A passenger, Adan Lozano, 18, of Roselle was arrested for Possession of Marijuana(Under 50grams); Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance.

The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for Careless Driving.

On Nov. 11 at 11:06 a.m.: A 2001 Lexus was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for a seatbelt violation.

Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Shayne Temple determined that the driver, Adham Allan, 27, of Linden had an active arrest warrant out of Linden. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Allan was in possession of marijuana.

Allan was arrested for Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance. Allan was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failing to wear a seatbelt.

On Nov. 11 at 2:42 p.m.: Patrol Units responded to the area of North Union Avenue on a report of an erratic motorist. Units located the vehicle, a 2003 Mazda, in the area of Lenox Avenue and North Union Avenue.

Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Robert Chamra determined that the driver, Juan Mojica, 44, of Cranford was driving while intoxicated. Furthermore, Ptl. Chamra located synthetic marijuana and marijuana inside the vehicle.

Mojica was arrested for Possession of Synthetic Cannabinoids; Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released to a relative pending a Superior Court Appearance. Mojica was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Nov. 11 at 11:02 p.m.: A 2017 Ford was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road and Coleman Avenue for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Timothy Handy located an amount of marijuana inside the vehicle.

Both the driver, Darrell Miller, 18, of Montclair and a passenger, Justice Greene, 18, of Linden were arrested for Possession with intent to Distribute(marijuana); Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Superior Court Appearance. Miller was also issued a motor vehicle summons for having window tint.

On Nov. 12 at 7:06 p.m.: Patrol Units responded to the area of Dermody Street for a reported suspicious motor vehicle. Upon arrival Ptl. John Rattigan located a 1997 Nissan, in the area from which the caller had described. Ptl. Rattigan made contact with the occupants, and during an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Rattigan located marijuana inside the vehicle.

An occupant Jason Thoing, 18, of Roselle was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance.

On Nov. 13 at 9:36 p.m.: A 2001 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of Chestnut Street and High Street for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. JasonD’Agostino located marijuana inside the vehicle.

The driver, Angel Ramos, 24, of Elizabeth was arrested for Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance.

Ramos was also issued motor vehicle summonses for having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failing to wear a seatbelt, and failing to maintain lamps.
