2 DWI, 2 Marijuana Possession Arrests Made In Cranford

Cranford Police reported making 2 driving while intoxicated and 2 marijuana possession arrests last week in the township.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Police reported making two driving while intoxicated and two marijuana possession arrests last week in the township.

Cranford Police Blotter:

On May 24 at 8:37 p.m.: A 2007 Honda was stopped on Centennial Avenue near Raritan Road for not signaling a turn. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Daniel Donnerstag arrested the driver, Jullian Ferguson, 22, of Irvington for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for being a suspended driver, having an unregistered vehicle, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On May 24 at 9:10 p.m.: Police units were detailed to the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for a motor vehicle crash. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Joseph Sherbo arrested one of the drivers, Rafael Batista, 52, of Edison for driving while intoxicated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, processed and released to a responsible adult. He was provided with a municipal court appearance date. Rafael Batista was also issued a motor vehicle summons for delaying traffic related to the crash.

On May 27 at 11:05 p.m.: A 2018 Honda was stopped on Centennial Avenue near Raritan Road for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman. Jason D’Agostino arrested a passenger, Shaquan Kyle-Knight, 19, of East Orange for suspected marijuana located on his person. He was charged with possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for a seat belt violation and for being a suspended driver.

On May 28 at 4:24 p.m.: Police units were detailed to the intersection of Walnut Avenue and South Avenue East for a motor vehicle crash. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Daniel Norton arrested one of the drivers, Patricia Desalvo, 45, of Clark for driving while intoxicated and use of a controlled dangerous substance. She was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and use of a controlled dangerous substance, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. In addition, she was also issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving related to the crash.
