3 Men Wanted For Burglarizing Elderly Resident In Roselle Park

One man claiming to be a plumber distracted the elderly resident while two others burglarized the Roselle Park home, police report.

ROSELLE PARK, NJ — Three men are wanted for targeting an elderly resident and tricking him into to believing they were plumbers and burglarizing his home in Roselle Park.

Roselle Park Police are investigating the distraction burglary that occurred on Monday around 12:30 p.m.

An elderly male resident reported a person — described as a light skinned male, average build, approximately 5’9," wearing a knit cap and producing a plumber’s badge — asked to come into his home to check under his sink for any leaks.

Once inside, the man stayed with the resident while checking under the sink and during that time he was communicating to another person through a two-way radio, police report.

After the brief interaction with the resident, the suspect left the home claiming everything looked good with the plumbing, police report.

Later on that day, the homeowner realized that personal belongings were missing from the home and realized he was burglarized, police reported.

The suspect arrived in a newer model, white, Ford F150 crew cab, with dark tinted windows, running boards, chrome wheels, a black cover over the bed of the truck and red 4x4 written on the side of it, according a police investigation.

Two other men wearing dark clothing exited the same truck, entered the home at the same time of the incident and removed the resident’s belongings, placed them in the rear of the pickup and all fled onto Galloping Hill Road, polie reported.
