6 Arrested For Drug Possession In Cranford
Marijuana, heroin, prescription pills found on those arrested last week in Cranford.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Police arrested six people last week for drug possession, according to the blotter.
Cranford Police Blotter:
On Dec. 13 at 12:20 a.m.: A 2002 Chrysler was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue and Carpenter Place for multiple equipment violations. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. James Knight located marijuana on the driver, Khayla Carvin, 18, of Rahway.

Carvin was arrested for Possession of Marijuana(under 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Superior Court Appearance. Additionally, Carvin was issued motor vehicle summonses for having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with its high beams activated, failure to maintain lamps, and improper window tint.
On Dec. 13 at 7:25 p.m.: A 2004 Infiniti was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road and Myrtle Street for delaying traffic. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Timothy Handy determined that the driver, Keith Gibbons, 50, of Roselle was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Further investigation revealed an amount of marijuana and oxycotin inside the vehicle.

Gibbons was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated; Possession of Marijuana(Under 50g); and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released to a relative pending a Municipal Court Apeparance. Gibbons was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, delaying traffic, failure to exhibit documents, having a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle, and having an open container in a motor vehicle.
On Dec. 14 at 12:56 p.m.: A 2000 Chevy was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue and the Garden State Parkway 137 Northbound ramp for improper window tint. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Robert Jordan located an amount of prescription pills inside the vehicle.
The driver, Tyrone Banks, 27, of Roselle was arrested for Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs(Pills); and Possession of Paraphernalia processed, and released pending a Superior Court Appearance. Banks was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, improper window tint, and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
On Dec. 17 at 7:13 p.m.: A 2008 Honda was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Cayuga Road for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gregory Federici located marijuana inside the vehicle.
A passenger, Jessica White, 25, of Garwood was arrested for Possession of Marijuana(under 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance. White was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seatbelt.
On Dec. 17 at 8:35 p.m.: A 2005 Pontiac was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road and Mohican Place, when a plate check revealed that the vehicle was unregistered. Following an investigation at the scene, Det. Timothy O’Brien located heroin inside the vehicle.
The driver, Jason Kardel, 26, of Elizabeth was arrested for Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance(Heroin), processed, and released pending a Superior Court Appearance. Kardel was also issued a motor vehicle summons for operating an unregistered vehicle and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
On Dec. 18 at 12:10 a.m.: A 2003 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jason D’Agostino located marijuana on a passenger, Eduardo Cacha, 39, of Roselle Park.
Cacha was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (under 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance.
