7 Arrested On Drug Charges In Cranford
Cranford Police made multiple arrests for possession of drugs including marijuana, heroin and hypodermic needles.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Police made multiple arrests for possession of drugs including marijuana, heroin and hypodermic needles.
Cranford Police Blotter:
On May 8 at 4:10 p.m.: A 2004 Mazda was stopped on Myrtle Street near Baltimore Avenue for unclear plates. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Christopher Gross arrested the driver, Keyne Dasilva, 21, of South Amboy for suspected marijuana located in the vehicle. He was charged with possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates, driving while suspended and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On May 8 at 7:40 p.m.: A 2011 Mazda was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for erratic driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Daniel Donnerstag arrested two passengers, Robert Wyler, 31, of Staten Island and Christopher Turchi, 31, of Linden for suspected heroin and prescription legend drugs located inside the vehicle. They were both charges with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of prescription legend drugs and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and not having a valid registration card in his possession.
On May 8 at 8:39 p.m.: A 2015 Nissan was stopped on Centennial Avenue near South Avenue East for not signaling a turn. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Timothy Handy arrested two passengers, Preston Lopriore, 23, of Red Bank and Paul Discepolo, 25, Garwood for suspected heroin and hypodermic syringes located in the vehicle. They were both charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and provided with a superior court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for an improper turn and failing to provide a valid driver’s license and insurance card.

On May 12 at 2:10 a.m.: A 2009 Honda was stopped on Raritan Road near Centennial Avenue for a brake light out. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Brian Trotter arrested the driver, Jocelyn Lubin, 32, of Maplewood for driving while intoxicated. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for open container, maintenance of lamps and failure to have a valid insurance card in his possession.
On May 14 at 9:10 p.m.: A 2007 Pontiac was stopped on Raritan Road near Mohawk Drive for tinted windows. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Jason D’Agostino arrested a passenger, Jason Goggins, 43, of Jersey City for suspected marijuana found on his person. He was charged with possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. Further investigation revealed the subject had multiple warrants for his arrest. He was remanded to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 17 at 8:12 p.m.: A 2002 Mercury was stopped on North Avenue East near the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman James Knight arrested the driver, Charles McKoy, 19, of North Plainfield for suspected marijuana located on his person. He was charged with charged with possession of under 50 grams (marijuana) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for a seat belt violation, no driver’s license in possession, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
On May 21 at 11:45 p.m.: A 2000 Honda was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road near Centennial Avenue for a brake lamp out. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Jason D’Agostino arrested the driver, Jivin Kissoon, 26, of Rahway for driving while intoxicated and use of a controlled dangerous substance without a prescription. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and use of a controlled dangerous substance, processed and released pending a Municipal Court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps and not having a valid insurance card in his possession.
