7 Underlined classifications of Forklift Trucks

Demand of the forklift type varies from place to the material that need to be handled. With the enhancement in technology worldwide the classification of forklifts have got larger in number. Various new companies emerged as forklift manufacturer and they are offering now hundreds of lift trucks models according your requirement.

In the list of those hundreds forklifts available, seven are classified as the most underlined and usable categories, which are further dividable in their lowest categories.

Electric Motor Riders:

The best thing about these trucks is that they can be used in dry outdoor environment as well on smooth floor inside. As they are equipped with either cushion or pneumatic tires. These versatile class of truck is equipped with industrial batteries. These batteries can control the hoist function and travel. These are specifically used in the areas where air quality factor needed to consider.

Electric Motor Narrow Aisle Trucks:

This is the second highlighted class of Fork Trucks which is usable in companies that operate on very narrow aisle operation. These trucks can be used under the areas where space limitation is just an issue, because their design is such that it occupies small place. Their unique features are designed specifically for improving speed and efficiency.

Electric Motor Hand or Hand-Rider Trucks:

As the name show this truck is controlled by hand. These trucks are controlled by a steering wheel. These trucks are bound to hold limited capacity materials and they have a small industrial batteries.  Usually the operator operates these trucks from the front. All of the load is mounted in the top of tiller.

Internal Combustion Engine (Cushion Tires):

These trucks are equipped with cushion tires. Cushion tires are made for specific indoor operation. As these are made with metal inside and rubber outside.  That is why these cushion tires forklifts are only limited to use in indoor smooth and flat surface. These are ground than pneumatic tired forklift truck. These trucks can be seen most of the time in warehouse environment.

Internal Combustion Engine trucks (pneumatic tires):

These are for the outdoor operation and can be used either in or outside of the warehouse. Pneumatic tires actually are air filled tires. These are suitable to use on any kind of rough surface. Air pressure inside the tire is greater than the atmosphere air pressure, which keeps it in working condition even after a lot of pressure. So these pneumatic tire forklifts are suitable for loading heavy loads.

Electrical and Internal Combustion (IC) engine trucks:

Electrical trucks are made for indoor use while IC Trucks are suitable for outdoor usage. The electrical engine lift trucks produce no emission and they have longer economical life. The fuelling cost is very low as compare to any other forklift. As the battery need to be charged before the operation. The disadvantage of these trucks is that they are expensive and are limited to hold 15,000lbs.

The IC trucks are cheaper as compare to the Electrical trucks. These are high speed trucks and suitable for outdoor application. They can hold up to 35,000lbs. For indoor usage these trucks are not suitable as they emit harmful gasses which are required to ventilate.

Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks

These are easier to use solution for handling materials and rough surface. These are able to load heavy material. These trucks are used majority under construction sites. The structure of these trucks based with large flotation type tires. These tires make them easy to handle on difficult surfaces.
