Amtrak Trains Travel Through Cranford

Special passenger trains head from New York City to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania through Cranford.

The old Lehigh Valley Railroad has been part of Cranford since the 1800s. Passenger trains between New York and Buffalo came through town until 1961. This past weekend, for the first time ever, an Amtrak passenger train passed through Cranford on the Conrail tracks as part of Amtrak’s Autumn Express. Cranford Radio was aboard the train and during the trip spoke with Chris Jagodzinski, Amtrak's vice president of operations, about the special train.
