Become A Certified Personal Trainer In Six Weeks Through Union County College

The class is held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays from January 14 to February 18.

From UCC Office of Continuing Education: The Office of Continuing Education at Union County College is offering the Personal Trainer National Certification beginning on January 14, 2017.

In just six weeks you could become a certified personal trainer. The class is held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays from January 14 to February 18. This combination lecture and hands-on program prepares you to work one-on-one with clients. Core topics that will be covered include: anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, cardio respiratory fitness, musculoskeletal injuries, weight control, health screening, motivation, and teaching techniques. This course is taught over a five-week period for better retention and skill competency. The World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.) national certification exam is held on the sixth week. Students who successfully pass this course and exam will be prepared for career opportunities in fitness centers, gyms, spas, or to start your own businesses.

Students will also complete a 30-hour post course internship upon successful completion of the certification exam. Proof of CPR recommended for certification and may be taken before, during or after the course. The price of the course is $599 which includes the cost for the WITS exam.
