Blurry Plates Lead To Drug Arrest: Cranford Police

Carlos Figueroa and Duane Berry were charged with possession, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 38-year-old Roselle man and an 18-year-old Perth Amboy man were arrested and charged with possession of under 50g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on March 13.

According to authorities, Patrolman Robert Charma stopped a 2002 Hyundai on North Avenue East for unclear plates. Following an
investigation on scene, Chamra arrested the driver, Roselle's Duane Berry and passenger, Perth Amboy's Carlos Figueroa, for suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle, police said.

They were both processed and provided with Municipal Court appearance dates.

In addition, Figueroa was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
