CHS DECA Students Thrive at the International Career Development Conference

CHS DECA Students Thrive at the International Career Development Conference

From April 23-28th, five students from Cranford High School competed against the top DECA business students from all 50 states and 3 countries in Anaheim, California.  In total, over 14,000 students gathered to compete in various aspects of marketing and business decision making.  Caitlin Slattery, Victoria Herlocker, Rachael White, Joseph Tobin, and Samuel Grossman each earned their spot to California by becoming a finalist in both their regional and state competitions.  Each student edged out over 100 students in each category to make their way to the Golden State.  These students competed in their respective business specialties, networked, and attended energizing leadership activities. The International Career Development Conference offers DECA members the chance to engage in challenging learning activities, receive awards and recognition for competitive and chapter achievements, and expand peer and business networks.  DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The DECA program is advised by Richard Goldstein and Donna Cathcart in Cranford High School and currently has over 100 members. Congratulations on their wonderful achievements!
