Principal's Corner: Join Us For A Cyberbullying Presentation at Cranford High School March 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Dear Cranford Community, 

Please join us in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, for our special presentation by Sgt. Rich on Cyberbullying, Texting, Sexting, Facebook and Formspring. 

We are also pleased to have special guest speaker Hester Agudosi, Assistant Attorney General for the State of NJ. 

This workshop covers cyberbullying and how technology fuels this epidemic. Specifically the topics covered are texting, sexting, Facebook and Formspring.me. It shows how these forms of technology are affecting our youth everyday and how it is making it easier to be mean to each other. It will also examine real life examples of cyber-bullying and the dangers of on-line chatting. It will also take an in-depth look at facebook profiles and explain the pitfalls and how to protect yourself through privacy settings. It examines formspring.me and how this website really is causing major problems with bullying in schools across the nation. Then it is all tied in showing how these forms of communication can be used in moderation and positively by our youth. Teaching solutions to all of the issues listed above is the goal. Using entertaining videos, positive solutions and encouraging audience participation brings out incredible results!

Sgt. Thomas Rich has been a certified police officer in the State of New Jersey for the past 15 years. He was recently featured on Good Morning America, as an internet safety expert and has spoken to over 40,000 people in the last 3 years in regards to cyber-bullying. The purpose of "Always Connected" is to inform law enforcement, educators, administration, youth workers, youth groups, parents and children of all ages how to utilize technology in a positive way.
