Busted Brake Light Nets Drug Arrest: Cranford Cops

Elaine Kwiatek was charged with possession after a motor vehicle stop, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 26-year-old Linden woman was arrested and charged with possession under 50g and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on Feb. 13, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Patrolman Jason D'Agostino stopped a 2007 Mitsubishi on Raritan Road for a brake light out. Following an investigation at the scene, D’Agostino arrested the driver, Elaine Kwiatek, for suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle, police said.

She was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, she was issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps, having an obstructed view and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
