Busted Headlight Leads To Drug Arrest: Cranford Police

Craig Pitts was charged with possession and driving with a suspended license, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 26-year-old Clifton man was arrested and charged with possession of under 50g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Dec. 15, according to the Cranford Police Department.

Patrolman Thomas Bell stopped a 2008 Chevrolet on North Avenue East and Centennial Avenue for having a headlamp out, police said. Following an investigation at the scene, Bell arrested the driver, Craig Pitts, for suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle, police said. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date.

In addition, Pitts was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, maintenance of lamps and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
