Calvary Lutheran Church Collects Baby Items for Hurricane Victims
Generous donations from community make baby item drive a success!
On Sunday, November 5, Calvary Lutheran Church collected baby clothing, diapers, formula and other items for families hit hard by Hurricane Maria. Through “Operation Float”, these donations will be shared with our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico.
We are so grateful for all those who made our donation drive a success. We collected 4 boxes and 3 garbage bags filled with clothes, boxes and bags full of food, formula, diapers, wipes, blankets, bath towels and toys, 3 car seats, 3 strollers and 2 playpens.
While the adults packed up the donations, the children made cards and wrote letters for the families, sending them good wishes and letting them know we are thinking of and praying for them.

The service project was part of “First Sunday”, Calvary’s monthly worship service for young children and their families. SERVE Chair and donation drive organizer Meg Spatz says, “As a mother, I know how hard it is to care for a child under good circumstances, let alone in the aftermath of a hurricane without power or water! The Calvary Church community generously donated supplies and money to help the people of Texas after Hurricane Harvey, and I knew they would rally for the victims of Maria too- especially as parents of young children!”
Our next “First Sunday” worship is Sunday, December 3 at 8:30am. Regular Sunday worship is at 9:30am in the sanctuary. Everyone is welcome. Calvary Lutheran Church is located at 108 Eastman Street in Cranford. For more information about our congregation call the office at 908-276-2418 or go to calvarycranford.com.
