Calvary Lutheran Church Thanks All Who Supported Baklava Fundraiser
$2000 Will Go To Help Hurricane Victims
Calvary Lutheran Church in Cranford thanks everyone who came out and supported our hurricane victims’ fundraiser on Sunday, September 17. We sold 900 pieces of freshly made Baklava. Proceeds from our sale, combined with numerous cash donations resulted in us raising $2000 to send to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America’s Disaster Relief Fund earmarked for hurricane victims.
We also assembled 40 “Emergency Clean-Up” Buckets. These buckets included supplies like rubber gloves, cleaning solution, clothespins and garbage bags. The Church World Service will take these buckets to areas ravaged by the hurricane and distribute them to home owners and business owners to help in the clean up and recovery process.
Thank you again to Rafi Mamroud, owner of Old City Café in Cranford, for teaching us how to make Baklava.
