Child Luring Attempt Of Cranford Girl Reported Monday
The juvenile girl was walking home from school at around 3:40 p.m. on Centennial Avenue when a man asked her twice for a ride home.

CRANFORD, NJ — An attempted child luring of a Cranford girl walking home from school Monday is under investigation by police.
The juvenile girl was walking home from school at around 3:40 p.m. on Centennial Avenue near the intersection of Buchanan Street when a man, in his late teens to early 20s, slowed down in traffic and asked the student twice if she wanted a ride home, Cranford Police reported.
The child refused and later contacted a family member, who reported the incident to authorities.

The driver, described as a thin white man with long black hair and shaved sides, never got out of the vehicle or made physical contact with the child, police report.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as an older model white sedan.

Cranford Police Detectives are actively attempting to gather video and surveillance from local businesses and residences.
