CHS Dancers Will Present Annual Spring Performance
The fourth annual spring concert will take place on May 11.
On May 11, the Academy of Performing Arts will present its fourth annual Spring Dance Concert in the CHS Auditorium at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and there will also be a canned goods collection for Cranford Family Cares.
The Cranford High School Academy Dancers have had an exciting spring. In March, the dancers traveled to the National High School Dance Festival at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia PA, where they spent four days taking master classes with teachers from around the world, watching performances and attending lectures and seminars on various dance topics.
On March 15, the dancers attended the Union County Teen Arts Festival and the senior dancers were selected to perform again at the Union County Showcase on May 16 at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway. On April 21, the dancers traveled to New York City to perform two student works by senior Rebecca Decyznski and junior Emily Grable at the prestigious 92nd Street Y, Harkness Center for Dance at a special event for select high school choreographers. These works will be featured on May 11 at the concert, in addition to several other student and faculty works.
