Costume Curator Shares 'How To Dress' In Cranford

Gail Alterman will demonstrate how a mid-19th century Victorian clothing Sunday.

CRANFORD, NJ - The Cranford Historical Society will present “How We Dress” at 2 p.m. at the Hanson House, 38 Springfield Avenue. The Society’s costume curator Gail Alterman will demonstrate how a mid-19th century Victorian woman would get dressed, from the inside out, using reproduction garments.

Alterman will share how clothing affected a women’s posture and reflected her status in society. Original garments from the collection will be on view. Admission is free but donations are accepted.
