Cranford Administrator Out, Police Chief In

Cranford Chief Ryan Greco replaces Terence Wall while a permanent replacement is sought.

CRANFORD, NJ - Cranford Police Chief Ryan Greco is pulling double-duty in Cranford as he has temporarily stepped in to fill the shoes of Terence Wall, who resigned from the post.

Mayor Tom Hannen told Patch that the appointment is only temporary, but it makes sense.

"Chief Greco supervises the largest department within the Township and his administrative skills are excellent," Hannen said. "It was determined he was the best fit on a temporary basis."

Greco said he agreed to help bridge the gap while the search for the new administrator begins.

"Although my my duties have increased, I will do anything to ensure that the process to chose the future leader of our town is thorough yet efficient while continuing to deliver the best customer service to our residents," he said. "Fortunately, I have a supportive family who knows how important this process truly is. I have agreed to take on this dual role until the Township Committee believes that have located the most qualified individual for the position."

As for that search process, Hannen said it is already underway.

"We are expecting resumes by the 16th of November and will be holding meetings to interview," he said.

Wall came to Cranford in November of 2013 from North Arlington where he served as borough clerk, municipal administrator and qualified purchasing agent.

"Mr. Wall is an outstanding administrator and we wish him well in his future endeavors," Hannen said.
