Cranford Considers Shell Station, Dunkin' Donuts
The Zoning Board heard a presentation Monday that would include a drive-thru.

CRANFORD, NJ - Last month WaWa was approved, and a new Shell Station/Dunkin' Donuts may not be far behind. The Cranford Zoning Board listened to part of a pitch to redevelop the gas station at 49 South Avenue West on Monday, with additional testimony to come next month.
The proposal from the applicant includes not only a gas station with three gas pumps but a Dunkin' Donuts that would include a drive-thu. The proposed drive-thru would have a two-lane queue that could hold more than a dozen cars. The interior of the building would have no seating, nor would there be any seating outdoors. There would be a counter inside to serve walk-in customers. The building is estimated to be around 1,000 square feet.
According to the applicant, the hours of operation would be 5 a.m. to 11 p.m and there would also be a backup generator on the property that would allow the gas station to remain open should Cranford lose power.
