Cranford Cop Attends Funeral Of Beloved Neighborhood Squirrel
A Cranford Police Officer was asked by local kids to attend a funeral for "Peanut the Neighborhood Squirrel" on Wednesday.
CRANFORD, NJ — While out patrolling Cranford Police Officer Matthew Siessel received an odd request from township children on Wednesday.
Siessel was reportedly flagged down by a group of children on Stratford Terrace who asked if he would attend a funeral they were having for Peanut the neighborhood squirrel, Cranford Police shared on Facebook.
The children had posted handmade signs around the tree that said: "Lean On Me," "We Will Remember You," "Rest in Peace," and "(Love) You Mr. Peanut."
