Cranford Elks Help Feed Families for the Holidays
In the spirit of charity and the holidays, Cranford Elks support Cranford Family Care by running an annual food drive.
A large part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is being charitable in their local communities. In the spirit of this sentiment and the holiday season, Cranford Elks Lodge #2006 held their annual holiday food drive this past November. On November 19, members Tracy Madonia, Bob MacMenamie, Denis Carter, and Greg Ryan brought more than 15 boxes of food donated by Elks members to Cranford Family Care Association. This food will help feed local families for the holidays.
Each holiday season for the past 7 years, Cranford Elks member Tracy Madonia works with Kathy Willis, the Director of Cranford Family Care, to determine what is needed within the community and hold a collection drive. Not only does Tracy feel that Cranford Family Care matches the Elk’s value of benevolence in the community, but their philosophy of “neighbors helping neighbors” truly resonates with her.
Cranford Family Care has been providing assistance to local families in need for 78 years. They accept donations of non-perishable food items and monetary contributions. More than 92 cents of every dollar reaches families in need within the local community. A link to the history of Cranford Family Care is below.
