Cranford Fire Department Receive New Radios

Cranford was among the 16 fire departments to be presented with new radios to enhance coverage throughout Union County.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford was among the 16 fire departments from throughout Union County to be presented with new radios.

The new radios allow firefighters access to the NJ Interoperability Communications System, which has enhanced radio coverage throughout Union County and the UASI (Urban Area Security Initiative) region.

The program distributes 62 mobile radios to fire mutual aid apparatus in 16 municipalities.

  • Mountainside,
  • New Providence,
  • Roselle Park,
  • Plainfield,
  • Rahway,

  • Clark,
  • Cranford,
  • Hillside,
  • Scotch Plains,
  • Springfield,
  • Union.
