MARLBOROUGH, MA. - The Cranford Hockey Club’s Mite team took home the championship trophy from the March Classic Tournament at the New England Sports Center, this past weekend. The tournament drew top Mite teams from New Jersey, Long Island and Connecticut.
Overall in the tournament, Cranford went, 3-0-1, advancing to the finals after a hard fought 4-3 win in the semi-final game.
In the finals Cranford faced the Long Island team, they had tied, 1-1, earlier in the tournament. Cranford jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Leading 4-2 in the third period, Cranford was able to hold on for the dramatic, 4-3, win to end its season.
