Cranford Man Arrested For Crack Cocaine, Heroin Possession
A Cranford man was among 10 people arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated or drug possession charges last week, police report.

CRANFORD, NJ — A Cranford man was among 10 people arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated or drug possession charges last week, police report.
On Nov. 9 at 11:19 p.m: A 2002 Jeep was stopped on Centennial Avenue at Winans Avenue for having a brake light out. Following an investigation the driver, Kenneth Meier, 25, of Cranford was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, heroin and paraphernalia. Meier was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine), possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin) and possession of paraphernalia, charged and released pending a superior court hearing. Meier was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, improper maintenance of lamps and failure to exhibit documents.

On Nov. 5 at 7:03 p.m.: A 2015 Infinity was stopped on South Avenue East at Burchfield Avenue for careless driving. Following an investigation the driver, Yvonne Cunningham, 57, of Elizabeth was found to be intoxicated. Cunningham was arrested for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breathalyzer and careless driving, charged and released pending a municipal court hearing.
On Nov. 7 at 3:03 p.m.: A 2008 Porsche was stopped on Myrtle Street at Rod Smith Place for failing to keep right. Following an investigation the driver, Lauren Keller, 32, of Seaside Park was found to be in possession of heroin, paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe. The passenger, John Choi, 44, of Lyndhurst was also found to be in possession of heroin, paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe. Choi and Keller were arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe, processed and released pending a superior court hearing. Keller was also issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, failing to exhibit credentials, failure to keep right and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Nov. 10 at 1:38 a.m.: A 2013 Nissan was stopped for delaying traffic on South Avenue at Centennial. Following an investigation the driver, Kerri Fernley, 25, of Byram was found to be in possession of heroin, marijuana and a hypodermic syringe. Fernley was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of paraphernalia, charged and released pending a superior court hearing. Fernley was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and delaying traffic.
On Nov. 10 at 6:45 p.m.: A 2012 Nissan was stopped for a seat belt violation on North Avenue East at carpenter Place. Following an investigation the driver, Raymand Johnson, 34, of Sparta was found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Johnson was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, charged and released pending a municipal court hearing. Johnson was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to wear a seat belt and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
On Nov. 10 at 9:49 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving an over turned vehicle on North Avenue East at Elizabeth Avenue. Following an investigation it was learned that the driver of the vehicle, Arley Rojas, 56, of Westfield lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole. Rojas was also found to be intoxicated. He was transported to University Hospital for injuries suffered in the collision and later issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, failure to maintain a lane and delaying traffic.
On Nov. 12 at 3:39 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a driver who was passed out behind the wheel of a motor vehicle on Centennial Avenue at Cayuga Place. Following an investigation the driver of the vehicle, Jorge Esquivel-Rivera, 21, of Woodbridge was arrested for driving while intoxicated, charged and released pending a municipal court hearing.
On Nov. 15 at 2:37 p.m.: A 2015 Chevrolet was stopped for a seat belt violation on Raritan Road at Centennial Avenue. Following an investigation it was determined that the driver, Paige Gaglianese, 25, of East Orange was in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Galianese was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court hearing. Gaglianese was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving while suspended and not wearing a seat belt.
On Nov. 16 at 11 p.m.: A 2009 Nissan was stopped for failure to signal at Centennial Avenue at Hayes Street. Following an investigation the passenger, Kasim Holmes, 36, of Irvington was found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Holmes was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, charged and released pending a municipal court hearing. Holmes was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to signal and having a vision obstruction.
