Cranford Man Arrested For Marijuana Possession

4 people were arrested for marijuana possession and 1 person for driving while intoxicated last week in Cranford, police report.

CRANFORD, NJ — One person was arrested for driving while intoxicated and four peoplefor marijuana possession, including a Cranford local last week, police report.

Cranford Police Blotter:

On Sept. 7 at 6:20 p.m.: A 2017 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and E. North Avenue for careless driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Detective Spencer Durkin located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Matthew Boruch, 22, of Scotch Plains was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Boruch was also issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving.

On Sept. 8 at 12:19 a.m.: A 2000 Dodge was stopped on the Garden State Parkway exit 137 northbound ramp for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman John Rattigan located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Elvin Houston, 38, of Newark was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Houston was also issued motor vehicle summonses for having tinted windows and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 8 at 7:22 p.m.: A 2007 Hyundai was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and E. Lincoln Avenue for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Gregory Federici located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Daniel Rivera, 38, of Cranford was arrested for possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Rivera was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lamps and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 10 at 11:16 p.m.: A 2013 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of the Garden State Parkway exit 136 southbound ramp at Raritan Road for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Michael O’Neil located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Courtney Baker, 33, of New Brunswick was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a municipal court appearance. Baker was also issued motor vehicle summonses for having a view obstruction and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in motor vehicle.

On Sept. 11 at 3:17 a.m.: A 2010 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue and Carpenter Place for careless driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Shayne Temple determined that the driver, Amanda Losasso, 28, of Roselle Park was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Losasso was arrested for driving while intoxicated, processed and released to a friend pending a Municipal Court appearance. Losasso was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and unclear license plates.
