Cranford Man Arrested In New Year's Eve Fight
Another Cranford was arrested for Heroin possession in separate incident, according to the police blotter.

CRANFORD, NJ — A Cranford man was arrested in connection with a fight that broke out at a township business on New Year's Eve, police reported.
Cranford Police responded to a fight in progress at a Centennial Avenue establishment on Dec. 31 at 10:56 p.m.
At the scene, Patrolman Gregory Federici arrested one of the involved individuals, Derrick Brooks, 35, of Cranford after Brooks began screaming obscenities in the street, police reported.

Brooks failed to comply with the officers’ instructions while being taken into custody. Brooks was subsequently charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest pending a Municipal Court Appearance.

On Dec. 23 at 3:31 a.m.: Patrol Units responded to an Orchard Street address for a dispute. Upon arrival, Ptl. Michael O’Neil encountered an individual, Brian Pierson, 19, homeless screaming obscenities on the front lawn. Pierson was subsequently arrested, after several failed attempts to calm Pierson down. Pierson was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Once back at headquarters, Pierson began spitting at officers, while being placed in a secured area. Pierson was subsequently charged with Disorderly Conduct and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. Pierson was released pending a Superior Court Appearance in Union County.
On Dec. 25 at 10:38 p.m.: A 2010 BMW was stopped at the intersection of the GSP SB 136 Ramp at Raritan Road for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Timothy Handy located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Danson Nderitu, 53, of Roselle was arrested for Possession of Marijuana(Under 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance. Nderitu was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lamps, and having a controlled danger substance in a motor vehicle.
On Dec. 28 at 10:04 p.m.: A 2010 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of Cayuga Road and Centennial Avenue for careless driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Daniel Donnerstag located marijuana, prescription pills, and MDMA inside the vehicle. The driver, Omar Germany, 30, of Jersey city was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance w/ Intent to Distribute(MDMA); Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs(Pills); Possession of Paraphernalia; Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); and Contempt of Court, processed, and released pending a Superior Court Appearance. Germany was also issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. A passenger, Andreauna Boyer, 27, of Linden was also arrested on an active criminal warrant out of Hillside PD.
On Dec. 27 at 12 p.m.: A 1998 GMC Pickup was stopped at the intersection of E. South Avenue and Centennial Avenue for a turn signal violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Robert Jordan located heroin on the driver, John Vicci Jr., 23, of Cranford. Vicci Jr. was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance(Heroin) and Possession of Paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a Superior CourtAppearance. Vicci Jr. was also issued motor vehicle summonses for improper window tint, failing to utilize turn signal, and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
On Dec. 28 at 8:43 p.m.: A 2002 Volkswagen was stopped at the intersection of W. North Avenue and W. Lincoln Avenue for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Timothy Handy located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Cameron Sebastien, 20, of Roselle was arrested for Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana(under 50g), processed, and released pending a Municipal Court Appearance. Sebastien was also issued motor vehicle summonses for improper window tint and having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
