Cranford Man Sentenced For Ramming Car Into Police, Drugs: Police

Siddeeq Q. Williams, 40, of Cranford was sentenced for conspiring to sell 140 kilograms of heroin and cocaine: US Attorney.

CRANFORD, NJ — A Cranford man was sentenced Monday to 121 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute 140 kilograms of narcotics, and for assaulting two law enforcement officers, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Siddeeq Q. Williams, 40, previously pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than one kilogram of heroin and five kilograms of cocaine. Williams also pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting federal officers.

Williams had arranged for cocaine and heroin to be shipped to New Jersey by tractor trailer but when it arrived on Aug. 27, 2017, police stopped the vehicle after the driver committed several traffic violations, according to documents filed in this case and statements made in court.

A search of the tractor-trailer found five large duffle bags containing a total of 56 kilograms of heroin and 85 kilograms of cocaine.

Williams admitted that he was supposed to meet the tractor-trailer to get the drugs to sell, according to the report.

He also admitted on Aug. 30 that when police tried to pull him over, he sped away in a Honda Pilot and then during the pursuit, he rammed the Pilot into the officers’ vehicle and drove away, according to the report.

In addition to the prison term, Williams was sentenced to five years of supervised release.
