Cranford Police Arrest 2 On Drug Charges

Cranford Police found a hypodermic syringe and prescription legend drugs during the arrests, according to the police blotter.

CRANFORD, NJ — Cranford Police arrested two people on drug-related charges including possession of a hypodermic syringe and prescription legend drugs.

Cranford Police blotter:

On Aug. 20 at 10:21 a.m.: A 1999 Toyota was stopped on North Avenue East near the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Ryan Gerrity arrested the passenger, Robinson Alvarez, 38, of West Caldwell for hypodermic syringes located inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. In addition, the driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for a seat belt violation.

On Aug. 19 at 11: 50 a.m.: Police units were dispatched to the area of North Avenue West and North Union Avenue for a traffic crash. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Christopher Gross arrested one of the drivers, Quentin Padilla, 25, of Clark for suspected prescription legend drugs located inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of prescription legend drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and provided with a superior court appearance date. In addition, he was also issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
