Cranford Police Bust Colonia Woman With 57 Folds Of Heroin
Police also found a machete and brass knuckles during a separate traffic stop, according to the Cranford police blotter.

CRANFORD, NJ — A Colonia woman was arrested after Cranford Police found 57 glassine folds of heroin inside her vehicle.
On Sept. 29 at 8:27 p.m., a 2002 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Hayes Street for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Gregory Federici located 57 glassine folds of heroin inside the vehicle, police reported.
The driver, Lisa Conti, 31, of Colonia was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance, police reported.

Conti was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to wear a seat belt, failure to utilize turn signal and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 28 at 10:19 p.m.: A 2011 Infiniti was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for an improper turn violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Daniel Donnerstag located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Saleem Bradberry, 29, of Parlin was arrested for possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Bradberry was also issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear license plates, improper turn and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle.
On Sept. 29 at 3:52 p.m.: Cranford Police Detectives were alerted by an employee of a W. North Avenue business of a suspicious individual inside the establishment. Following an investigation at the scene, Detective Timothy O’Brien was presented with a fake Connecticut driver’s license by the individual later identified as, Anniesa Thomas, 25, Brooklyn, New York. Utilizing the NCIC database, detectives confirmed that the number on the license did not exist. Thomas was arrested for possession of false government documents, processed and released pending a superior court appearance.
On Sept. 30 at 12:15 p.m.: A 2001 Mercury was stopped at the intersection of W. South Avenue and Washington Place for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Brian Lopez determined that a passenger, later identified as Michael Miller, 34, of Elizabeth was providing him with a false name. Further investigation by Lopez determined that Miller had active criminal warrants out of Mountainside. Miller was arrested for hindering apprehension and contempt of court, processed, and turned over to Mountainside Police. Miller was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failing to wear a seat belt.
On Oct. 2 at 10:53 p.m.: A 1997 Honda was stopped at the intersection of Garden State Parkway exit 137 southbound ramp at E. North Avenue for multiple equipment violations. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Ryan Gerrity located crack cocaine inside the vehicle. The driver, Kevin Shannon, 36, of Keyport and passenger, Justine Mattioli, 31, of Keyport were both arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance. Shannon was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lamps and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
On Oct. 4 at 9:07 a.m.: A 1998 Honda was stopped at the intersection of W. North Avenue and Orchard Street for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Robert Jordan located a machete and brass knuckles inside the vehicle. The driver, Brian Fernandez, 19, of Elizabeth was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon, processed and released pending a superior court appearance. Fernandez was issued motor vehicle summonses for improper window tint, failure to exhibit documents and failure to wear a seat belt.
On Oct. 4 at 1:23 p.m.: A 2007 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue and Forest Avenue for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Robert Jordan located marijuana and promethazine inside the vehicle. Both the driver, Billy Davis, 42, of Newark and passenger, Kahleef El-Amin, 38, of Hillside were arrested for possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams), possession of a prescription legend narcotic and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. El-Amin was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear seat belt. Davis was issued summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain lamps.
On Oct. 5 at 12:04 p.m.: Patrol Units responded to a W. South Avenue establishment on a reported shoplifting. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Robert Jordan determined that Iijane Horace, 21, of Newark shoplifted various items from the establishment, and provided him with a false name. Horace was arrested for shoplifting, hindering apprehension and contempt of court, processed and was turned over to the Irvington Police Department on an active warrant.
On Oct. 5 at 12:06 a.m.: A 2006 Honda was stopped at the intersection of E. South Avenue and E. Lincoln Avenue for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Daniel Donnerstag located marijuana on a passenger, Kevin Bell, 24, of Irvington. Bell was arrested for possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams), possession of a prescription legend narcotic (Alprazolam) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Bell was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seat belt.
On Oct. 5 at 8:41 p.m.: A 1999 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road and Commerce Drive for an equipment violation. Following an investigation on scene, Patrolman Daniel Donnerstag located marijuana inside the vehicle. A passenger, Nile Baltimore, 22, of East Orange was arrested for possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for unclear license plate.
