Cranford Police Sweep High School, Check Out Threat

Cranford High School staff reported seeing a "non-specific threat on a wall​" in the school, causing police to sweep the area.

CRANFORD, NJ — Police responded to Cranford High School on Friday afternoon to check out a "non-specific threat on a wall" in the school.

Cranford High School staff members located the threat around 1:10 p.m. and notified police, who initiated a shelter in place, police reported.

Faculty and staff, in partnership with the police, conducted a sweep of the grounds and determined that the threat was not credible, police reported.

Normal activities resumed shortly thereafter. The Cranford Police Juvenile Bureau is investigating the incident.
