Cranford Student Honored In Statewide Art Showcase
The museum will have her work on display for two months

CRANFORD, NJ — A senior at Cranford High School will have her work displayed in a museum beginning in March.
Gabrielle Hernandez's display was chosen to be in the "Fresh Perspectives" showcase at the Morris Museum in Morristown.
"This is a remarkable achievement that shines a spotlight on our art department and students' talents," Mark Cantagallo, Superintendent of Schools, said. "We are incredibly proud of Gabrielle."

Her work combines stained glass, sheet metal, and chain links and will be on display from March 6 through May 10.
The "Fresh Perspectives" showcase began in 1989 to highlight talented high school students and the encouragement and teaching of instructors throughout the Garden State. Each term, teachers from accredited schools are able to nominate a maximum of four works for consideration.

A total of 50 selections are then made by a group of jurors with backgrounds in the art industry.
This year's competition drew nearly 240 submissions from 33 schools in eight counties.
