Cranford Township Committee To Reorganize At Jan. 2 Meeting

CRANFORD, NJ — The Cranford Township Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on Thursday, Jan. 2, at 6 p.m.

At the meeting, Mayor Patrick Giblin will take the oath office as chair and continue to serve in his role.

Also at the meeting, Mary O'Connor and Kathleen Miller Prunty will take their oaths of office committee members after winning in the November election. Then, Prunty can take an oath as deputy mayor.

In Cranford's form of government, the public elects members of the five-member committee, who choose a mayor and deputy mayor and commissioners of various departments.

The mayor will appoint the following township commissioners to positions: Kathleen Prunty, commissioner of finance; Jean-Albert Maisonneuve, commissioner of public safety; Mary O'Connor, commissioner of public affairs; and Thomas Hannen, commissioner of public works and engineering.

Dr. Christopher Chapman and Peter Taylor are on the agenda as mayoral appointments to the Planning Board, with Molly Kellett and Roy Walton appointed as alternates.

The committee will also vote on appointments to various legal positions and other boards within the township.

Meetings are held at 8 Springfield Ave.
