Cyclist Had 'Crack' Pipe: Cranford Police

George Brown was stopped for riding without lights or reflectors, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 61-year-old Elizabeth man was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped while riding his bicylce on June 21, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Patrolman Christopher Gross stopped a bicyclist for riding without any lights or reflectors at the intersection of Casino Avenue and Riverside Drive.

Following an investigation on scene, Gross arrested the bicyclist, George Brown, for having a “crack” pipe in his possession, police said. He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued a summons for riding a bicycle at night without a light, police said.
