Drug Arrest On North Avenue East: Cranford Police

Mark Kovatch was in possession of oxycodone without a prescription, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 53-year-old Roselle man was arrested and charged with possession of prescription legend drugs and possession of paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on May 30, according to the Cranford Police Department.

According to authorities, Detective Robert Jordan stopped a 2002 Cadillac on North Avenue East for an expired inspection decal. Following an investigation on scene, Jordan arrested the driver, Mark Kovatch, for suspected oxycodone found in his possession, police said.

He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to make repairs, failure to maintain his lane and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
