Drunk Driver Had Heroin: Cranford Police

Andrew Gugulski was stopped on Pine Street, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 26-year-old Union man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of prescription legend drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on May 18.

According to authorities, police units were dispatched to the area of High Street and Pine Street on the report of an intoxicated male entering a vehicle. Police stopped a 2014 Hyundai and following an investigation on scene Patrolman Corey LoForte arrested the driver, Andrew Gugulski, for possession of suspected heroin, Xanax, and for driving while intoxicated, police said.

He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date.

In addition, Gugulski was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to signal a turn, tinted windows, throwing debris from a vehicle and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
