DWI, Drug Arrest On Cayuga Road: Cranford Police
Nicholas Esmerado was stopped as part of a DWI checkpoint, police said.
CRANFORD, NJ - A 21-year-old Cranford man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of under 50g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on June 1, according to the Cranford Police Department.
According to authorities, Patrolman Shayne Temple stopped a 2016 Jeep on Centennial Avenue as part of a DWI Checkpoint. Following an investigation on scene, Temple arrested the driver, Nicholas Esmerado, for driving while intoxicated and possession of suspected marijuana found inside the vehicle, police said.
He was processed and provided with a Municipal Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
