International Film: Forbidden Games (France, 1952, 85 minutes)

A young French girl orphaned in a Nazi air attack is befriended by the son of a poor farmer, and together they try to come to terms with the realities of death. Forbidden Games was awarded Best Picture by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Best Foreign Film by the New York Film Critics Circle, and Best Film at the Venice International Film Festival.
