Local Artist, Irena Pejovic Artwork on Display

Local artist, Irena Pejovic from Cranford (originally from Macedonia), a Printmaker and a Graphic  Design Artist, will be showing 4 recent prints at the Rhythm and Movement exhibition at Lana Santorelli Gallery, 628 Washington Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030.  The show is opening this Saturday, May 12, 2012 with a Reception hosted by the gallery from 6pm – 9 pm.  This exhibit explores the compelling and powerful forces that come to life when music, dance, and visual art merge.  Irena Pejovic's boundary-pushing acrobatic compositions, mesmerize in a choreographed orchestration.

Trained in drawing and printmaking in her native Macedonia, Irena came to the US primed to break out, to discover her own esthetic ‘voice.’  Over the last 12 years, she is happy to say: She found it.  It’s no surprise that her work often depicts people breaking out of a chrysalis state; in many ways, that’s how she feels as an artist.

Irena Pejovic currently lives in Cranford, and she is the owner of Koiko Design LLC, a graphic design studio.  She received her BFA in printmaking and graphic design from Montclair State University in 2003 and was awarded the honor "Printmaker of the Year" at the Montclair State University for three years in a row.  She is serving as a Board Member at the Printmaking Center of NJ, where she is a key holder as well, and is a member of the Lower East Side Printshop in New York.  She will be part of 3 group exhibits this month, at Lana Santorelli Gallery Opening May 12, MAD HOT YOUNG, part of Arts on Division in Somerville NJ, opening May 18th, and the 12th Annual Anniversary Exhibition at the Box Heart Gallery in Pittsburgh, PA opening May 28th, 2012.  Her artwork can be seen on her website www.irenapejovic.com.  All are welcome.
