Victorian Wash Day at Crane-Phillips House Museum

Come learn why 'blue Monday" and "sad irons" were familiar terms to our petticoat wearing great, great grandmothers on Sunday, September 19th at the Crane-Phillips House Museum from 2:00-4:00pm. Try your hand at doing laundry the nineteenth century way! Learn about the rapid advances in technology during the Victorian era which led to the first "automatic" washing machines. This fun, soap bubble-filled living history day is appropriate for young children and their families. dmission is free. Founded in 1927, the Cranford Historical Society's mission is to preserve and perpetuate the history of Cranford.
