The Friends of the Cranford Public Library are pleased to sponsor “An Evening with Lady Day,” featuring the music of Billie Holiday as interpreted by vocalist Rhonda Denét and the Silver Fox Trio. Admission is free and all are welcome. Ms. Denét is a New York City based jazz/soul vocalist. She has a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from New York University, and has spent many years writing and producing her own brand of soul-infused cabaret, forming and working with a number of bands and developing original music. Since 2007 she has been building her full-time career in music, performing regularly with her band, the Bad Cats, as the lead vocalist of the Kazz Music Orchestra, and with several other regional projects. This marks Ms. Denét’s fourth appearance at the Cranford Community Center, where she has also presented programs featuring the music of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, music from the Great American Songbook, and the music of Motown.
