Mark Your Calendars: Five Unique Upcoming Events

1. Catch the classic adventures of Meg, Amy, Jo and Beth tonight; the Little Women will screen at 7 p.m. in the Community Center. This movie is an adaptation of a well-known novel about four sisters trying to make ends meet when their father goes off to minister to the troops during the Civil War.

2. Depart to the 1950s and rock out to the musical "Grease," playing at 8 p.m. tomorrow through Oct. 16, at CDC Theatre, 78 Winans Avenue. 

3. On Saturday catch the Cabaret Night: A Musical Menu at Cranford High School's upper gym. The event will feature live musical performances by students and faculty alike from the Performing Arts Department. There will also be food samplings from The Cranford Hotel, Rosie's Wine Bar and Restaurant, the Garlic Rose and more. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $25 each.

4. Dig for treasure at the town-wide garage sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For $20 Cranford residents are invited to register and get their sale mentioned on the town-wide sale map. All registration proceeds benefit Cranford Family Care. Go here for more information.

5. On Oct. 10 bring your family out to Pedal Paddle Fun, a full day's worth of community competition. There will be bike races, canoe rides, an obstacle course and contestants will also race rubber duckies at 3:30 p.m. in Hanson Park. For more information, head to the Web site.
