Heroin Arrest On Myrtle Street: Cranford Police

Steve Lesher was stopped for having an expired registration, police said.

CRANFORD, NJ - A 45-year-old Lodi man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on July 25.

According to authorities, Patrolman Gregory Federici stopped a 2004 Hyundai on Myrtle Street for an expired temporary registration. Following an investigation on scene, Federici arrested the driver, Steve Lesher, for possession of suspected heroin found inside the vehicle, police said.

He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. In addition, he was issued a motor vehicle summons for unclear plates and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, police said.
