'Intoxicated' Kenilworth Man Shouting Obscenities Arrested In Cranford

Meth, crack cocaine, hypodermic needles, marijuana and driving while intoxicated arrests were also made by Cranford Police.

CRANFORD, NJ — A patron of a local business in Cranford flagged down police on Sept. 23 at 8:16 p.m. to report "potentially intoxicated" man trying to drive a vehicle, police report.

Lawrence Zambito, 36, of Kenilworth was found to be causing a disturbance, by shouting obscenities in the parking lot of the establishment, Cranford Patrolman Gregory Federici reported.

Zambito was asked several times to stop his behavior and when he refused, Federicic arrested him for disorderly conduct, police report.

Zambito was transported to Cranford Police Headquarters for processing, and was released pending a municipal court appearance.

On Sept. 13 at 4:26 p.m.: A 1998 Volvo was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for lane violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Michael Dubitsky located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Anthony Lewis, 20, of East Orange was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Lewis was issued motor vehicle summonses for improper turn and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 13 at 7:32 p.m.: A 2012 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of Commerce Drive and Myrtle Street for a red-light violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Gregory Federici located a pipe containing suspected THC Oil inside the vehicle. The driver, Nicholas Marzullo, 35, of Staten Island, New York was arrested for possession of marijuana (THC Oil) and possession of paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a municipal court appearance. Marzullo was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lane, failure to stop at a red traffic signal and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 14 at 6:29 p.m.: A 2006 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of the Garden State Parkway exit 137 and E. North Avenue for a lane violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Detective Spencer Durkin located marijuana in possession of a passenger, Cassidy Dickerson, 28, of Roselle Park. Dickerson was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Additionally, Dickerson was issued a motor vehicle summons for failing to wear a seat belt.

On Sept. 16 at 9:39 a.m.: A 2003 Mercury was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Myrtle Street for multiple equipment violations. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Michael Dubitsky located crack cocaine inside the vehicle. The driver, Ryan Morrell, 35, of Colonia was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance. Morrell was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to inspect, improper turn, unregistered vehicle and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Sept. 20 at 1:29 p.m.: A 1998 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of the Garden State Parkway exit 137 southbound ramp and E. North Avenue for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Detective Spencer Durkin located a hypodermic syringe on the driver, Julio Guerrero, 42, of Elizabeth. Guerrero was arrested for possession of a hypodermic syringe, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Additionally, Guerrero was issued motor vehicle summonses for failing to wear a seat belt, failure to inspect and driving while suspended.

On Sept. 21 at 12:33 p.m.: A 1996 Dodge was stopped at the intersection of E. Lincoln Avenue and Walnut Avenue for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Christopher DiFabio located marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Justin Shelton, 23, of Trenton was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of paraphernalia, processed, and released pending a municipal court appearance. Shelton was issued a motor vehicle summons for possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. A passenger was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seat belt.

On Sept. 21 at 6:49 p.m.: A 1994 Oldsmobile was stopped at the intersection of Garden State Parkway exit 137 soutbound ramp and E. North Avenue for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Ryan Gerrity located Oxycodone and Hydrocodone inside the vehicle. The driver, Catherine O’Keefe, 46, of Brick was arrested for possession of prescription legend narcotic (hydrocodone and oxycodone) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance.

On Sept. 23 at 12:06 p.m.: A 1999 Dodge was stopped at the intersection of South Union Avenue and W. South Avenue for a signal violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Robert Chamra determined that the driver, Patrick Browne, 52, of Westfield was driving while intoxicated. Browne was arrested for driving while intoxicated, processed and released to a family member pending a municipal court appearance. Browne was also issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lamps, failure to wear seat belt, failure to signal and failure to obey traffic signal.

On Sept. 22 at 7:05 p.m.: A 1996 Mitsubishi was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for an equipment violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Gregory Federici located heroin and cocaine inside the vehicle. The driver, Jeanine Mastriana, 33, of Winfield Park and passenger, Kimberly Dudash, 42, of Winfield Park were both arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine and heroin) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance. Mastriana was issued motor vehicle summonses for possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and operating an unsafe motor vehicle.

On Sept. 23 at 1:27 a.m.: A 2003 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of Orchard Street and Hampton Road for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Jason D’Agostino located THC Oil inside the vehicle. The driver, Christian Spiecker, 21, of South Amboy was arrested for possession of marijuana (THC Oil) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a municipal court appearance. Spiecker was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failing to wear a seat belt.

On Sept. 24 at 9:48 p.m.: A 2005 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road and Moen Street for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Gregory Federici located marijuana and methamphetamine inside the vehicle. The driver, Calvin Miller, 40, of Linden was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) and possession of paraphernalia, processed and released pending a superior court appearance. Miller was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to wear a seatbelt and possessing a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle.
